New Business Manager 

We have an exciting opportunity to join our growing team in Dublin. 

In this role, you will be allocated a territory where you will be tasked with driving continuous sales growth through getting vehicles out on hire and achieving revenue and profit targets from new business sales opportunities. 

Northgate Ireland has been supplying and managing vehicles for businesses across Ireland for almost 20 years. We continue to grow and dominate the light commercial vehicle market with depots in Dublin, Cork and Limerick. 

Our growing network of branches in Ireland and our sizeable fleet means we can get vehicles to customers quicker than any other light commercial vehicle supplier and we keep those vehicles on the road longer by minimising downtime. Our vehicle fleet is made up of light commercial vehicles (LCVs) from leading manufacturers including Mercedes Benz, Ford, Opel, Renault, Volkswagen and Peugeot.

Key Responsibilities

  • To get vehicles on hire (in line with agreed targets), within set parameters, through solution selling to potential customers, achieving the best result for both the customer and Northgate
  • Creatively research key business sectors using facts, figures, and tools to present plans and forecast future goals and targets
  • Be responsible for achieving predetermined monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
  • Develop a robust pipeline of prospects to deliver growth of the business by identifying targeted Corporate and SME opportunities
  • Create and maintain a 'New Business Development Plan' in conjunction with the Sales & Marketing Director that clearly articulates a strategy for developing new business. This should contain both short- and long-term goals with agreed measures and milestones
  • Gain a competitive edge in negotiations through a thorough understanding of the market
  • Negotiate contracts and service level agreement (SLAs) with new customers within agreed parameters
  • Continuously identify additional revenue opportunities for Northgate Vehicle Hire
  • Establish close working relationships with relevant members of Northgate Vehicle Hire to enable the delivery of customer requirements effectively
  • Proactively provide each customer with the appropriate management information as required to win and develop the account
  • Provide regular updates and forecasts to the Sales & Marketing Director as required
  • Update CAP (Internal Northgate System) and MS Dynamics CRM system
  • Identification of non-rental related opportunities to increase sales revenue
  • Follow the appropriate account opening process to ensure the smooth integration for the customer
  • Relationship Management internal and external

Person Profile:


  • Leaving Certificate
  • Full Clean Driving Licence (this role requires national travel)
  • Previous experience of significant new business generation
  • Proven record of exceeding targets
  • Experience of selling within a B2B environment to Corporate/SME market
  • Proven ability and experience in solution selling
  • Strong influencing and negotiation ability
  • Tenacious, resilient, and passionate in character
  • An ability to deliver presentations to customers - all levels of management
  • An ability to identify and resolve issues. And to be able to collate and analyse data
  • An ability to write reports in response to clients’ needs
  • An ability to build strong relationships
  • An ability to work under pressure, be self-motivated, committed to meeting deadlines (self-imposed and external), and to manage multiple requirements and demands effectively


  • Degree or equivalent in Business related discipline
  • An understanding of vehicle rental/contract hire/leasing
  • A good level of technical knowledge in relation to LCV specifications and applications




Competitive Base Salary. OTE €75k (No Cap on Earnings)
